Chapter 1
"Stack your chairs and line up, if we hurry we might be able to do recess before the patrols have
to leave" said Mrs. Perez to her 5th grade class. While everyone ran to line up Dotty, Sophia, Patti, and Amanda walked to Michelle's desk. "Don't forget the note." Said Patti. Michelle got the note and put it into her
pocket. Then the girls stacked there chairs and walked outside. When the friends got outside they went to the pole under the slide. The reason they were at the pole under the slide was about
a week ago they started writing notes then they would dig a hole and put the note in the pole and bury. Then the next day they would dig the note up. While Dotty, Sophia, Patti, and Amanda
started digging Michelle started tearing open the letter. "I don't think we should open the letter because it's not ours it is for Michelle's parents," said Dotty who always thought twice before doing something.
Ignoring Dotty completely Michelle took the letter out and started reading it. "What's it say, what's it say?" shouted Sophia, Dotty, Patti and Amanda. "It says that if I don't have proof that I live in this school
district by Friday then I can't go to this school anymore. They all looked shocked. "I got that too. Everything is going to be fine," said Sophia. Mrs. Perez blew her whistle and they went inside thinking nothing was
going to go wrong.
Chapter 2
"Okay, everybody here?" said Michelle. She couldn't see them because they were on 5-way call. Michelle had to talk to them-and fast. They were already
home from school so she had to call them instead of talking to them in person (which she would much rather do). "Yes" said everybody. "Alright, there is something very important I have to tell you," said Michelle. "You
know how I got that letter today. Well my mom doesn't have proof that I live where I live so I might have to leave the school on Friday." After that, things went hectic, the friends were asking Michelle questions, they
were asking their parents questions on how they could help. Sophia was so freaked out she went through her dads papers. When they were finally calm enough to talk, Amanda's parents had to use the phone so the
friends said "bye" to Michelle hoping to see her tomorrow. Of course the next morning when they got to school everybody was there. The friends were very, very happy.
That day Michelle wrote a little letter and wouldn't let anyone see it. She told them to dig a hole and so they did. She placed the note in the hole and said "you can read it on Friday at
recess." They put the sand back in the hole, burying the note. By that time it was time to go inside, they went inside and went to patrolling hoping to see Michelle tomorrow since it was going to be Thursday the next
day. Luckily Michelle was there the next day and at the end of the day all the friends went home thinking Michelle was going to be there the next day.
Chapter 3
When Friday
rolled around everybody was having a jolly day- until they got to school. When they got to school Michelle wasn't there but Mrs. Perez said, "Michelle is at a meeting with Mrs. Vasquez (the principal)." The friends went
to reading class, did two tests and went to p.e. before they heard any news. Finally after p.e. Mrs. Perez told the class "Michelle won't be joining our class anymore." They all started bawling. It was a terrible day.
Then it was time for recess, they ran to where to where Michelle had put the letter that they'd buried on Wednesday. They dug it up and it said, "If I don't see you Monday, I'll never see
you again." |
